avidin conjugates

It's generally accepted that cells labeled with MOABs and fixed in PFA
of Formalin will last for extended periods (I've heard anywhere from a
few weeks to indefinitely) . . . Question -- what about cells labeled
with biotinylated ABs, followed with av-fluorophor conjugates? Do these
last as well? Anyone look at this? We're going to try, but I thought
there might be someone(s) out there with some insight.
Thanks. MAK.
