We have had good success labeling tumor cell lines and fresh leukemia
cells with PKH26 red fluorescent dye available from Sigma
Immunochemicals. It fulfills all the criteria you mentioned. A
colleague is using it to follow lymphocytes infiltrating spinal column in
mice 7-10 days after injection.
