Elaine, a quality assessment study we published a number of years ago
(Cytometry 10:433-41,1989) addressed your question. We evaluated
freshly prepared peripheral blood lymphocytes from 15 healthy volunteers
over a 19 month period with respect to expression CD4 and several
other membrane proteins (CD3, CD8 and CD20). The median coefficient
of variation for CD4 % positive within the individual volunteers was
4.5% (range 3.2% to 7.8%). Hope this is helpful.
