What software version do you run? With our system (1.5/1.22
whatever that means) you can even compare the lin and the
log peak channels if you aquire both as they are not created
by seperate amplifiers in the XL.
Means values are always slightly different, but how to
caculate means in log-space (and why people do it if the
cluster is not a log normal distribution) remains a
philosophical question.

I am having a hard time getting an answer on what exactly the log
scale means on the Coulter XL instrument. When I gate on the peak of
interest, the Mean X value has no relationship to the value that is
observed in the histogram. How would one try to compare to peaks of
different fluorescent units?
Thanks in advance for any help.
