To those in the U.S./Canadian clinical flow community - Several months
back Marc Langweiler raised concerns with the CAP lab inspection
questions. I wish to inform those you care, that the Diagnostic
Immunology Resource Committee (DIRC) of the CAP is currently actively
reviewing and making recommendation for changes in Checklist #11 (flow
cytometry). As part of this process, the DIRC members wish to solicit
any and all CONSTRUCTIVE input of the FMC community. Do not response to
me, but mail or fax all suggestions (including supporting literature)
regarding specific checklist question (and list question #) to the
committee's CAP support staff member Karole Cecich c/o College of
American Pathologists, 325 Waukegan Road, Northfield, IL 60093-2750. The
FAX number is 847-446-8266. Any suggestions must be received by June 15,
1996 in order to be included for discussion at the next DIRC meeting on
June 22, 1996

Please be assured that your thoughts are important and contribute to a
better quality lab accrediation process.

Bruce H. Davis, M.D.
Senior Councilor, Clinical Cytometry Society
and liason to CAP Diagnostic Immunology Resource Committee
