I agree with your concern.

A special concern is with CD4 or CD8 blasts that tend (in our
experience) to scatter higher in FS and SS. On the other hand, the CD14
gate is essential to control the CD4 contribution from the monocytes.

I have not yet investigated what we loose in CD4(bright) and CD8
using the B-D CD14/45 control; but I think I will in the future.
