Hello Chromosome Sorting Specialists....

I have a user who wants to know up to which point one can resolve
translocations on chromosomes if they are "painted" with different colors.
What he wants is to sort chromosomes which carry a specific translocation.

The donor chromosome of the translocation can "painted" (FITC), so only the
intact chromosome and the little piece of the translocation will show up in
FITC.
However I have no experience if you can doublestain with DAPI or Hoechst,
and if you can then sort for only FITC positives... and how many Mbases
must a chromosome translocations have, in order to detect it attached to a
non painted chromosome ???

Any tips on possibilities, sorter setup (what's the min UV laser power you
need to do chromosome sorting, nozzle size etc ???) are very much
appreciated..

Thanks a lot in advance !!!

Matthias
