CellQuest / PowerMAC

Good morning all, especially Simon in his new job!

Yes, we use a PowerMAC to run CellQuest offline. It is actually a
Quadra650 that has been upgraded. We find that there is a distinct
advantage of our users being able to analyse at a separate workstation
on which we have installed other graphics packages into which
CellQuest-generated pictures can be imported (albeit a little clumsily).

I dont think that there is any additional advantage of using a PowerMAC
as there isnt currently a FATVersion of CellQuest. Nor is there any
adavntage of using System 7.5 as firstly I know from this list that some
people have encountered problems with CellQuest and secondly we ahve been
told by BD Europe that they will not support it under System 7.5!

Having said that however, although we use System 7,1 on our anlysis
PowerMAC, we have been using System 7.5 on the Quadra 650 that is
attached to our FACScan for 3 months without any problems at all. I would
be interested to see if anyone else is using 7.5 and what problems they
have found.

Hope that this is of some small use!

Derek.
