chromosome sorting

I need some quick advice from anyone who has done chromosome analysis on a
BD FACStar Plus. I have tried some initial feasibility experiments trying
to identify and sort two large chromosomes from plant tissue but have been
unsuccessful getting the resolution necessary to separate them.

Does anyone have any ideas how to increase resolution on a FACStar plus,
without completely modifying the instrument so that it can only be used for
chromosome sorting? I would appreciate any ideas.

Thanks,
Julie
