I have encountered the same problem --- I assume you are talking about being
in the aquisition mode and having a problem opening more than 6 dot blots.

You can open any other kind of plot that is available to you in aquisition
mode, but not any more dotplots than 6.

We recently upgraded our CPU ram to 32 megs, but I haven't had a chance to
open more than 6 dotblots in aquisition yet. We added the memory to both our
CPU and 8 megs more to the HP1200 color printer, because as usual you can
generate more documents than you can print. I really haven't had the
opportunity to test the system yet to see if any of this $1800+ upgrading was
effective.

I suspect that the recording software that picks up and processes signals
in aquisition can't open and update more than 6 dotplots in real time. In
Analysis you can open as many as you like. So you both are right.

I certainly would like to be able to open more dotplots so I could look at
side scatter vs flourescence on all 3 channels in addition to dual
flourescence dotplots in all 3 combinations and foward vs side scatter as well
thats 7 dotplots.

I'd like to add the new diode laser to my setup (FACSort) and get some
dotplots on that as well in aquisition in combination with the other three
channels as well as side scatter. That's another 4 dotplots.

Funny thing is in the old LYSIS II on those old HP Consort 32's you could
under the 9 small box format open 9 dotplots!!!!! BD told us that we could do
everything on Cellquest that we could do in LYSIS II and more. I'm from
Missouri now ( Wish I had been before) and I need to be shown, cause several
conversations with the folks in San Jose haven't convinced me that they even
understand the problem. The software folks don't seem to do any real
aquisition so they don't know what we really want. They are really good on
the analysis side though.
