Ethidium Bromide might not be too specific for DNA but goes
supravital sometimes, or use it as Hydroethidine. A little
bit of tween 20 or pluoronic might help the uptake.
Otherwise ask molecular probes about their new dyes.
For UV exited like DNA profiles your chances are pretty
slim.

Anyone know of a supravital DNA stain that can be excited with an
argon laser and which has an emission spectrum similar to
phycoerythrin. My objective is to obtain good quality cell cycle
data in combination with a FITC marker in viable cells.
