We have successfully used a system devised by Peter Lansdorp up in
Vancouver (at the Terry Fox Cancer Center). He developed an anti-PE
antibody... the basic procedure is to stain cells with and
PE-conjugated antibody to what your interested in. Then, do successive
iterations of staining with biotinylated anti-PE (from Peter), followed
by PE-conjugated avidin. (Several washes between each step!). We
found no significant increase in background staining, and after 3
rounds we had a 5-10 fold amplification of signal.
It's a pretty cute system. For information, please contact him directly.
