Needed, flow cytometry operator to run an academic research oriented
facility equipped with FACSCAN and FACSTAR+ instruments supported by
HP310, HP340, MicroVAX and IBM 486/66 computers. The facility services a
large group of basic research scientists, mainly immunologists.

The unit does stained cell analysis, cell sorting and cloning, ion flux
experiments, cell cycle analysis, energy transfer and other procedures. Current
software includes Consort 30 and 40, CellFIT, Lysis II, WinMDI, WPPC, Winlist,
and ISOcontour. The operator is expected to perform all procedures using the
FACSTAR, do routine maintenance, provide technical assistance to investigators
and train users to acquire and analyze their own data using the FACSCAN and
associated computers.

We are looking for a person with experience with cell-based technology,
computer skills and a demonstrated ability to interact well with other
scientists.

We welcome applications from experienced operators but will also
consider candidates with laboratory and computer skills but little flow
experience. If a less experienced candidate is appointed s/he will
receive training on the job. An appointment can be made as early as
October 1.
