With the upcomming 10th annual meeting of "Clinical Applications of
Cytometry" in Charleston, it is time for some reflection on the course of
the field ("C"), the meeting ("CAC"), the society ("CCS"), and the
journal ("CCC", of course, a part of "C"). See? With the continuing
confusion about all these "C's", its tempting to change the titles of all
of the above!

My purpose in all this is to request, as a member of the council of the
Clinical Cytometry Soc ("CCS"), a member of the editorial board of
Communications in Clinical Cytometry ("CCC"), and a concerned user of
cytometry ("C"), that issues, questions, and ideas regarding all of the
above "C's" be communicated and discussed. At the Charleston
meeting, there will be a number of meetings (council meetings for "CCS",
organizational meetings for the "CAC") which should have an important
impact on these areas of clinical cytometry ("CC"?).

I would urge anyone involved in, interested in, etc. clinical cytometry
to provide input, thoughts, ideas, and criticisms that are relevant to
all of the above "C's" (this should include members of CCS, CCD,
non-members, or all of the above) to members of the CCS council, CCC editorial board, etc. It only
through intelligent and interactive dialog that we will help to make
these organizations and the field of cytometry successful.
