Yes, it is possible, in fact, I do it all the time when I want something
printed in color. We are configured here for windows for workgroups and all
you do is conncect your PC's parallel port (LPT1) with the Paintjet. Select
the correct printer driver from the list available in the normal printer
set-up procedure with windows (you will have to have the original windows
install disks to pull off the correct driver) and set it up for LPT1. It
works like a charm. Get rid of that interface box! You don't need it.

I am assuming you have set up printers before, however, if you have trouble,
let me know and I can give you more of a detailed answer.

Good Luck!

Subject: Interfacing color Paintjet printer to IBM pc

I do have a trivial problem but had spent some time on it without result,
therefore need your help:
We have several HP color Paintjet printers which are used exclusively to
output data from FACSCAN and FACSVANTAGE. Since the print quality is good
when the ink is fresh and proper paper is loaded, I am wondering if it is
possible to output the color graphics from IBM PC to the PAINTJET. I have
an MicroPrint 45C interface (Intelligent Interfaces)which converts
HB-IB(GP-IB) to Centronics. Since I do not have documentation on this piece

of hardware I am requesting to the man or woman who knows:
1)Phone number of Intelligent Interfaces
2)The interface requires to be powered(there is a power inlet for that) what

kind of power, 6V or 12 V? I do not want to blow it
3)What kind of drivers shall I need to print graphic files from Paintbrush
or any picture editing program with all colors reproduced?
All answers will be appreciated
