Flow Cytometry System Design Engineer

BSEE, BSME, BSSWE, or PhD. in physical science and eight plus years
experience in the design of flow cytometry instruments. Extensive
experience in system design of advanced flow cytometers including
system architecture and error budgeting. State-of-the-art working
knowledge of all engineering disciplines plus expertise in at least one
field of specialty. Knowledge of signal levels and signal processing
for flow cytometry measurements. Proven basic understanding of
fluidics, light scattering, flourescence and optics. Proven ability to
make technical/business tradeoffs to produce competitive instrument
systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Will function as principal system engineer for development of new
clinical flow cytometers. Will work with other engineers and scientists
to design flow cytometry system architectures. Will act as the primary
system engineer for the Project Team during the design, development,
integration and test of the instrument systems. Will provide the
principal technical direction for flow cytometric aspects of the
projects.
