Dear fellow Coulter Elite Cytometrists:
We are forced to replace our old 386 PC
on our Elite with a faster PC ( a 66 MHZ
Zeos ). The 386 became slower than
frozen molasses when Elite's Version 4.1
was installed. The swap went fine, except
the mouse died thereafter. We tried install
different mouses wirh different drivers,
nothing works. Anyone had this problem?
Is this incompatibility arising from the
clock speed, maybe Coulter's Elite
Version 4.1 or the Coulter interface board
can't handle the faster clock ? (The
mouse works fine with applications other
than EPICS ELITE V 4.1). I remember
sometimes ago the Purdue folks did a
successful swap, however they warned
about not to get too fancy on speed. I will
appreciate any advice you may have for
me. Peter Bercz
