The FACStar should get just as good resolution as the ELITE. Have
you adjusted the obsuration bar? It can be turned to many different
angles to optimize scatter. I'm not sure what you meant by your
"noise" but you may be seeing laser light modulation when light
passes the obsuration bar and overwhelms the FSC detector.
