Combining isotypes with different colors would work for brightly-labeled
cells, since the low-end cutoff is not critical. However, for populations
with lower expression, it's essential to determine accurate cutoffs,
therefore making the mix less than optimal. Remember...the isotype is
specifically a 'biological' control, so approach it as such. If cutoffs
are easy to determine, don't worry...but, if low expression is possible,
configure controls to best correspond to the panels you use. It's better
to run a few extra control tubes than render all of your data questionable.
