macrophage respiratory bursts

I would greatly appreciate advice from anyone who has been
successful in getting cultured macrophages to burst, to tell me how
they do it! We have no problem getting a burst with fresh monocytes
or granulocytes irt E.coli, but adherent cultured macrophages do
nothing. Are any specific stimuli needed? Any other tips?

Thanks,

Stan.
