There's a new version of my free FCS listmode analysis program for PC/DOS,
MFI version 3.4J. Get it by anonymous ftp from flowcyt.bio.umass.edu in
/pub/flowcyt/mfi, or at http://www.bio.umass.edu, where you should select
the Flow Cytometry Facility, then the Catalog of Free Flow Cytometry
Software. (This catalog is as comprehensive as I know how to make it, in
case you're looking for something else.)

MFI is especially good for fast batch runs thorough large numbers of files,
either to print median intensities, or to view histograms + dot plots
quickly on one screen per file. Also good for kinetics (even if your
acquisition software does not record event time). Also puts listmode
or histogram data into ASCII files. MFI works with FCS listmode files from
nearly all acquisition software packages.

MFI 3.4J adds more flexibility to the run organization screen. You can
toggle off the command menu, allowing the full screen to be used for the
file list. Also, you can list the label for each file alongside the
filename. Since the label can be any FCS keyword, you can use this to
list conveniently sample id, events/file, a parameter gain, or any other
information in the FCS file.

The next version of MFI will likely add the ability to put medians and
other calculated results into a spreadsheet-ready file. If you are
interested in providing advice on how best to do this, or in beta-testing
it, please contact me by email.
