We too have lost data on the Consort 32 when someone tried to use the
Rename function to copy files to a floppy. They put #3: into the
destination box and as a result the file was renamed with no name on the
hard disk, making it irretrievable (according to B-D). It also made every
file that comes after the blank-named file inaccesable from Master Page.
B-D's instructions were to go into the command line and use Filer to copy
(one-at-a-time) all those files that follow the blank one to a floppy. The
blank one is inaccessible and the only way to get rid of it is to reformat
the hard disk.

Good luck.
