RE: more 'high' speed sorting TIME OUT!

I thought we were having fun!

Given we're all over the network I thought I should reply in
kind, though this message is primarily directed to Tom d.

I am sorry that you should have perceived my last response as
somewhat antagonistic, that was certainly not my intent and would not
constitute wise useage of the network. I apologize.

In your most recent posting you replied that your response "could be
viewed as somewhat sarcastic", and "yes, you can tell when someone is
yelling on the Net".

Yes, I picked up on the sarcasm...and added a little spice of my own.
Probably not good network etiquette, but certainly no offence intended
even if my response contained bits of barbed humor.

With respect to "question authority", my intent probably was not
clear: I was refering primarily to a section of the instrument manual
which says the drop delay offset is factory set, and goes on to recommend
the operator not attempt to adjust it ('manual as authority'). Presuming
that all is correct precludes an awful lot of potential solutions!

All I was trying to say is I believe there are many sorters out there not being
used anywhere near their full capability (speed / efficiency) and suggest a
few ways to help getting more out of them.

Almost finally, my apologies to all those whose time I wasted with
this apology, more bad network etiquette.

But if you've read this far, I'ld like to add that we have purchased
BD's high speed sorting option for a Facstar Plus, though due to (our) in
house factors it is still in the box. I will be happy to share our experiences
once we are on line, and would certainly appreciate feedback from anyone who
has experience with it or other high speed systems.

I think I'll take a break, you have the floor.
