As a Macintosh alternative was presented I can suggest an IBM (clone)
scenario that works quite nicely for my lab. You don't say if your off-line
analysis load is heavy but if it is I would think using software written for
flow data would be the best option so that you would have a single package
that would perform histogram and dot-plot analysis with all the usual
statistics needed and that also batch prints easily. We use Verity House' Win
-
list program (requires Windows) which directly reads files from the Facstar,
Facscan( Hp-310 via WHPPC also Verity) as well as Cytomation-acquired data.
Winlist is a great program for your routine analysis, fairly simple to use
but also capable of linking to other Windows programs such as Excel and Power
point for your extended needs. All our machines are etherneted which makes
handling many files much easier but there is an available program if you must
work with floppies. Hopefully this is useful info.
