Richard,

following the discussion I think it's time to suggest OS/2 as an alternative on
PCs. Using the new version OS/2 WARP 3.0 you would get some benefits:

1 - Your ELITE-based DOS-programs would (most likely) run without any problem.
Memory under DOS is no problem any more. (I say "most likely" since I have
no software to try - we're BD over here - )
2 - You could safely multitask to any other application. If your Windows
application crashes - it's the only one which is lost.
3 - Win32s is now also supported - so basically all flavours of Windows
software will run (if you need them).
4 - Networking is also easily achieved - for those who like Lantastic, there
will be a native OS/2 version before the end of the year.

Just a thought....
