For critical applications like sorting, Coulter recommend de-gassing the
sheath fluid by connecting the sheath tank pressure line to the vacuum
connection for the waste tank for 30 minutes or more, with occasional
agitation to dislodge bubbles, before using the sheath. This may not be
possible on all instruments, but vacuum treating the fluid before putting
it in the sheath tank might eliminate the problem.
