RE: Time as a parameter on the old FACScan & FACStar-Plus Research Software...
I can't think of any easy way to do it. However, if you can do some programming
on FCS data files, there is a kludge approximation to time that might be useful
to you. The FCS header contains two keywords (BTIME and ETIME) which record the
beginning and ending time of the run. If you assume that the flow rate was
relatively constant over the duration of the run, you could calculate an
estimated time parameter for each event by interpolation. You'd need to produce
a new FCS file with the added time parameter (and the associated keywords in
the header), and then analyze it on a flow program (such as LYSYS-II, WinList
or ListVIEW) that could accept the extra parameter.

If the flow rate wasn't constant, then this technique won't work.

Is there any way to record event acquisition TIME as a parameter using
FACScan or FACStar Research Software vintage 1988 on either a FACScan or
FACStar Plus? This software uses the old HP 310 computers, not the newer
HP 340's.
