As an addendum to Paul Robinson's comments on CD-ROM data archival.
We recently purchased a Pinnacle Micro CD-ROM writer for $3,995.
It records in both single-session and multi-session modes. We have
been playing with it for about 1 month. There are a couple problems,
which I did not appreciate until we started using this technology:

1) In multi-session mode there are 9 megabytes of overhead used
for EACH session.

2) As Paul mentioned, The archival data must first be assembled
on your hard-disk, before being written to the CD-ROM. This
requires a lot of free disk space be maintained on the hard-disk.

However, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ability to
store large amounts of data securely on inexpensive media and the
ability to retrieve the files on any computer with a CD-ROM drive are
hard to beat.

I would like to know more about Corel-SCSI. It would be nice if the
problems mentioned above could be fixed with software.
