Data display

Does anyone remember an article in Science about 7-8 years
ago that deals with a better way of displaying 3-D data?
The authors used an image of a foot print to demonstrate that
the 'rainbow' order of color gradation (red, orange, yellow,
green, blue, indigo, violet) is not as impressive as a color
scale based on luminisity.
I would like to find out what
this color scheme is so that we could use it for color
density plots of 2-parameter flow data.
It would be nice if the printouts of the screen had the same
color, but that's another story.
