Cancer Cells

The increased adhesion of metastatic cells to the basement membrane allows the cells to move on top of and through the basement membrane. This helps cancer cells move and invade the body.

Watch these movies. One of the movies shows cells isolated from a benign tumor (dog prostate). The other movie shows cells isolated from a metastatic tumor (from the lung of the same dog). Can you tell the difference? (Hint...watch how much the cells move along the petri dish.)
