Thanks to all who replied to my question on CFSE alternatives. Here is a
summary of the suggestions.

From Mol Probes. Not as pretty as CFSE, but it works with a red diode
laser.

You could try SNARF from molecular probes. It emits in the FL2 or FL3
channel.

Ki-67 is just as good as CFSE.

In my experience, with flow-based LPAs from hiv- infected patients, CFSE
provided indirect evidence of toxicity (lower proliferative activity in
CFSE-stained versus non-stained samples). I opted for PKH26 from Sigma.
It runs on FL2. The main problem with PKH is the price (much more
expensive). It also provides less precise peaks, but use of Modfit
software for analysis compensated for this problem.

PKH-26 or the other PKH dyes. These bind to lipids but can be used for
the same purpose

PKH 26 or PKH67 are excellent alternatives...they stain the lipid
membranes in stead of the intracellular proteins. We use them all the
time.
