Jenny,

I have had a Guava EasyCyte Mini since December and love it!! It is the
ideal instrument for my lab because we have periods of time where we do lots
of analysis and other periods of time where we may not use it for a couple
of weeks. We have not had any issues with not running it on a daily basis.
Due to the fact that it prefers a low cell concentration in your final
volume, we typically label 10 uL of human or mouse blood and get excellent
results. This is opposed to other instrument (Coulter FC500) where we used
to have to label 100 uL of blood. So essentially less sample and less
reagent = money saved. We use the cell counting / viability (ViaCount)
routinely and have found that it works well. We run unlysed blood through it
and other than running an extra cleansing cycle have not had any blockage
problems. The other good news is that the flow cell is really easy to remove
(via a small port on the top), so if you have to clean it, this can be done
very quickly. Overall I think it is a great machine from my limited
experience over the past few months. If you would like to discuss it more
over the phone, let me know. Good Luck!!!

Brian
