Fixation method for sorting GFP+ cells for RNA

Hi Everyone

I have a PI who wants to sort some infectious samples, I am not
comfortable with this as I do not have the machine in a room by itself
or in a hood. After doing some searching in the archives, I found some
methods people have used for sorting fixed cells for RNA. My problem
comes in that they want to sort based on GFP expression and some of the
fixation methods are not good for the GFP. Is there anyone who knows of
a fixation method that will retain the GFP and RNA integrity for a sort?

I would appreciate any help that any of you wonderful people can
provide.

Thanks for all your help in the past and in the future!

Mary
