Diva crash

Hello Flowers,
I have been thinking myself lucky with our use of the Canto and its DIVA software. No
problems at all. Until Tuesday afternoon.

When we now try to boot the DIVA application (still using version 4.......), it does not
get any further than showing us that lavender flash "advertising" screen. Nothing else.

We have been talking to BD -- and they have finally said that we should re-install the XP
operating system. We do not want to do that because we do not have a BD version of that
operating system (if such a thing is necessary). In addition, all the other applications
are working just fine.	So, it seems as if the operating system is not the problem.
Although I could be wrong on this.

We have, so far, de-installed the DIVA application and then re-installed it. We have
done this many times, from two completely separate DIVA CDs (one was still
shrink-wrapped). We have told the software re-installation to make a new database for
us. We have wiped out Java files and SQL files before the re-installation. Still, all
we get is that damn lavendar flash screen.

A colleague has mentioned that Microsoft downloads software patches on the second Tuesday
of the month. Could this be a problem? Is anyone else having problems with DIVA
software since Tuesday?

Any ideas?

Alice
