Dear All We are running quite a busy facility and sometimes we are having problems of a machine that has been left dirty from user to user. What would be the best procedure to apply between users at the FACScanto-II? Should everyone do at least one cycle of "clean flow cell" procedure at the end of his samples? Or should the old "run bleach on high for 5 mins plus water for 5 mins" be used instead? I was quite surprised to find out that the BD technician, once asked on the issue, told to my colleagues that with the FACS canto-II you do not need to do any cleaning procedure between users. Is that really true? However such statements sound enticing, me and other people always find a lot of cells from previous users detected by the machine. So I would not really go with the technician suggestion in the short and long run. Can anybody please let me know what user policy is implemented in your lab and any of the experience that led to it? Thank you very much for your kind attention and any help Dr. Alessandro Serra Cell Biology Group Deutsches Rheumaforschungszentrum (DRFZ) Berlin Charitéplatz 1 10117 Berlin Phone: +49-30-28460 765 Fax: +49-30-28460 603 Email: serra@drfz.deReceived on Fri Feb 8 18:40:12 2008
