Exciting new position in an expanding flow cytometry core. Australian Stem Cell Centre Research Assistant - Flow Cytometry The Australian Stem Cell Centre (ASCC) is a federally funded Biotechnology Centre of Excellence involved in innovative research into stem cells and related technologies for the delivery of therapeutic benefits. The key purpose of this full-time position is to operate flow cytometry equipment and provide support and training to internal ASCC researchers and to external researchers, mostly based at Monash University. The position reports to the Flow Cytometry Manager and is located in the ASCC Head Office in Melbourne, located on the Monash University campus. The Flow Cytometry Laboratory (FCL) currently has two sorters, a FACSVantge-DIVA and an Influx 516SH, and an FC500 analyser. We are a busy core facility servicing over 100 scientists and are looking to expand the facility in the near future, into a new purpose built laboratory with an additional sorter and new analysers. The key responsibilities of the position are to: * To independently operate flow cytometry equipment; * To assist FCL customers with all aspects of flow cytometry in accordance with FCL operating procedures; * To conduct quality control and daily maintenance of flow cytometry equipment; * To assist in the growth and development of the Flow Cytometry Laboratory We are looking for an experienced cytometrist or a research assistant with flow cytometry experience who is keen to expand their knowledge base. The hours of operation of the facility are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and the successful candidate will be required to work within these hours.
