FlowJo on 8-core Mac?

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried FlowJo on an 8-core Mac Pro?

The Treestar guys assure me that in certain circumstances (eg FCS3
files with compensation and biexponential scaling) FlowJo should
benefit from the 8-cores (ie has been designed to take advantage of
as many cores as it can). However, they don't have one to test so
they haven't been able to do direct benchmarks.

My main concern is that I've been hearing that in a lot of cases (non-
scientific computing) other parts of the computer saturate well
before the processors do so before I request the extra budget for an
8-core I'm keen to hear if anyone has actually tried one.
Alternatively, if anyone with a 4 core has looked to see if they can
max out all four cores that would also be interesting to know as that
would at least suggest that the extra cores would provide some benefit.
