Hi R., depending on your specific experimental end-goal, there's really no need for special tubes or anything. People have collected blood using the simplest heparin/citrate/EDTA tubes for ages, followed by either Ficoll gradient to isolate PBMC or simple & cheap erythro lysis if you want it all. Once you've got your cells ready you mash them up using the lysis buffer of the RNA isolation kit your're going to use. Alternatively, lyse in commercial or homebrew phenol/guanidine type buffer (Chomczynski) and extract the oldfashioned (but cheap & realible) way.
