Dear all, Our group is interested in buying a flow cytometer and we have received 2 quotations. One for a Cell Lab Quanta SC and one for an Apogee A40-miniFCM. We work on bacterial cells (2 x 0.8 microns) and in the future probably also on even smaller bacteria. One very important feature that we would like to have is accurately measuring cell size, so we don't have to do this manually using a microscope. Furthermore, we frequently use fluorescent protein reporters, so the flow should be able to work with this as well. Basically my question is, which flow machine can you recommend? The A40 machine claims to be specially built for measuring bacterial cells so should be superior to the Quanta in this respect. The quanta however comes with a laser and a lamp enabling multiple excitations. Any comments from users would help in our decision! Thanks in advance, Jan-Willem VeeningReceived on Wed Nov 22 12:18:00 2006
