Luminescence (Lumen = light + escent=become) of the Fluorspar. The rock became visibly
lighting under the action of invisible UV. 

	Thus, the FLUORspar's luminESCENCE was contracted to FLUOR-ESCENCE. 

	But, unfortunately, it is just a hypothesis...
