Hi E., I've played with two intact membrane-crossing b-gal substrates from Mol Probes quite a while ago ("Imagene Green", "Imagene Red"). Result was inconclusive as transfection efficiency was poor for that particular experiment, if I recall correctly, but I do recall both colours were FACS compatible and flow was mentioned was an application for those reagents.
