We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our 
multidisciplinary team of scientists in preclinical safety, Novartis 
Pharmaceutical Corporation, East Hanover, NJ.  Practical and theoretical 
knowledge of immunology and basic skills in molecular biology, with 
hands-on experience in flow cytometry using animal models, staining of 
cell surface markers and intracellular components, titration of 
antibodies, cell viability, microsphere-based immunofluorescence assays, 
ELISA's and cell culture are required.	Experience with Laser Scanning 
Cytometry is a plus.  Individuals with a working knowledge of GLPs and 
validation of equipment and assays are highly encouraged to apply. 
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; excellent record 
keeping; and basic computer skills are required.  The successful candidate 
must serve as team member and/or lead major activities and develop new or 
improved methodologies/techniques.  Additional responsibilities include: 
drafting or revising SOPs;  maintaining and troubleshooting equipment and 
training less experienced personnel.

Candidate should have a PhD or MS in molecular biology, immunology, 
biomedical sciences, medical technology or related field and a minimum of 
3+ years of relevant experience.  Individuals with a BS degree and 5+ 
years of directly related pharmaceutical industry experience will be 
considered.

A post doctoral position is available for a recent PhD in Immunology to 
join our multidisciplinary team of scientists in preclinical safety at 
Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation, East Hanover, NJ.	The candidate will 
be responsible for setting up and validating functional immune assays on 
samples from rodent, canine and non-human primate models. 

Previous hands-on experience in current techniques for cell based immune 
assays, flow cytometry, ELISA, cell culture, LLNA and functional NK cell 
assays is desired.  Experience with Laser Scanning Cytometry is a plus.
