We too have had several problems with our relatively young Jouan centrifuges. The same ones you list, and also a broken timer. Not very reliable, it seems. Now, for some strange reason (probably, price concerns) I have bought Jouan. It is OK, but for 2-years old centrifuge it has too many problems ( to close the lid we have to slam it; to cool the centrifuge to the right temperature you first get too low temperatures, etc). If I had to buy a new centrifuge now, I would go for Beckman. As I recall they have very decently priced models (Allegra) with cooling and without with tube holders fo 50ml, 15ml and facs tubes 12x75. > >Good luck. I have been looking thru several books and have no idea what type of centrifuge I should purchase. I am wondering if anyone is able to lend me a hand or give their opinion on what is used in their Clinical Flow Cytometry Department. I use 15ml conical tubes and regular test tubes that are used on the analyzers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. >> >> Thanks in advance! >> >> Sara Markestad, MT (ASCP) >> >> St. Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta >> >> 404-851-7744 >> >> _____ >> >> Confidentiality Notice ** The information contained in this message may be privileged and is confidential information intended for the use of the addressee listed above.
