We too have had several problems with our relatively young Jouan
centrifuges. The same ones you list, and also a broken timer. Not very
reliable, it seems.

Now, for some strange reason (probably, price concerns) I have bought
Jouan. It is OK, but for 2-years old centrifuge it has too many
problems ( to close the lid we have to slam it; to cool the centrifuge
to the right temperature you first get too low temperatures, etc). If I
had to buy a new centrifuge now, I would go for Beckman. As I recall
they have very decently priced models (Allegra) with cooling and
without with tube holders fo 50ml, 15ml and facs tubes 12x75.

looking thru several books and have no idea what type of centrifuge I
should purchase. I am wondering if anyone is able to lend me a hand or
give their opinion on what is used in their Clinical Flow Cytometry
Department. I use 15ml conical tubes and regular test tubes that are
used on the analyzers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
