Alice,

Qdots ranging from 800-545nm are excited by the violet laser (407nm) and
these are measured using the optical setup as outlined in our web-site
(http://www.niaid.nih.gov/vrc/labs_flow.htm).

Mabs can be conjugated directly to the Qdots using the kits as discussed in
their website ( http://probes.invitrogen.com/products/qdot/). Some of these
are available with SA, which as you know can be bound to biotinylated Mabs.

I would recommend reading the Qdot antibody conjugation kit user manual (
http://probes.invitrogen.com/media/pis/mp19010.pdf).

Hope this helps

SP
