Hi Robin,

I plan to talk about the SP assay performance on the FACSAria at
the upcoming ISAC meeting (next month) in Quebec, using a new 375 nm
non-fiber coupled laser system currently under development . We're still
"working on it", as it were... more data by then.

	 Best regards,

	  Joe

Subject
SP on FACSAria

Hello all,

I?ve posted questions about using a FACSAria to sort side populations
before, but haven?t ended up trying it yet. Thanks to everyone who
responded, especially Derek Davies, I think I could get our Aria set up
properly and give it a try.

My new question comes from a new customer who is thinking of trying the SP
sorting.	He is concerned that we can?t find published research using the
FACSAria for this purpose, and since our configuration will not be optimal
(we have the 407 laser, not a UV), perhaps his results will be in
question. I?ve found Derek?s paper (JIM 310:171-181, 2006) and one other
that used a 407 laser, although I?ve only seen the abstract and don?t know
if they used an Aria or not (Methods Mol Biol. 263:161-180, 2004).

The question is, are there other papers out there where a FACSAria was
used to sort side populations? I don?t think this customer is willing to
be my guinea pig, and I really can?t blame him.

Thanks in advance,

Robin
