Following a workshop I gave at the EMBO course in Berlin in 2004
discussing bacterial heterogeneity in gene expression I spent some time
with Dirk Bumann at the Deutsche Rheumaforschungszentrum in Berlin. He
has published the work on Salmonella isolation doing exactly this:

Nature 440, 303-307 (16 March 2006)

Robust Salmonella metabolism limits possibilities for new antimicrobials

Howard could we please agree to put [microbial] at the front of the
message so it is more useful in the "sort by name" functions

Subject: Harvesting bacteria from infected tissue for subsequent flow
analysis

	Hello,
I was asked the following question, and I am empty handed, but I
thought I would pass it on to the many out there who might have
knowledge in this area.

	Here is the question
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with harvesting
bacteria from infected tissues for subsequent flow analysis? I'm sure
there's a way to do it, but before I jumped into a literature search I
thought I'd go to the folks who might know.

	Thanks,
	Nick Lejarcegui
