Hi Bill, I've seen a DakoCytomation tech support/sales person use an Excel sheet for this purpose. Although probably MoFlo specific, I expect this would give you a fair estimate for other brand instrument/nozzles etc. as well. I don't have a copy of this document, but would be interested in getting one as well (or a similar one if BD has one - HINT!). regards, Guy Next generation therapeutic <http://www.ablynx.com/> antibodies Guy Hermans, PhD Senior Scientist Ablynx NV Technologiepark 4 B-9052 Zwijnaarde Belgium guy.hermans@ablynx.com tel: fax: mobile: +32 (0)9 261 06 57 +32 (0)9 261 06 27 +32 (0)486 788 551 <https://www.plaxo.com/add_me?u=30065269879&v0=994426&k0=2009290972> Add me to your address book... <http://www.plaxo.com/signature> Want a signature like this? -----Original Message----- From: William Throndset [mailto:william.throndset@danisco.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 08, 2006 11:36 PM To: cyto-inbox Subject: droplet volumes Hello, Can anyone tell me the volume of droplets coming out of a jet-in-air nozzle? I am usually using a 70 micron nozzle at 60psi and about 100,000 droplets per second. I'd also like to know how to calculate this myself. Also, since the droplets are made up of sheath and sample, what portion of each droplet is sheath, and what portion is sample?
