Vanmathy, hello: CD14+ magnetic beads are killing our budgets (and the monocytes themselves, incidentally...), so i decided to take a look at "vintage" literature regarding monocyte separation in humans by density gradients yesterday since in the last ~10 y not much has been done about it. I was surprised at the amount of good information available! Most of it is 20-30 years old, and it just makes me wonder how pubmed has spoiled me. Searching almost anything will give so many hits that i give it up after scanning the most recent, missing a lot of good works. Anyway, back to the point, I did a simple pubmed search with 2-3 variants along the lines of "monocytes density gradient separation", and here's the list of articles i selected. Although I haven't looked at them yet, judging by the titles + abstracts probably they have enough info on them about procedures to give you a good idea of what to do next. Good luck! Uriel.
