Michael Icardi wrote: Can anyone give some clarification as to how you count up your 88184 and 88185 codes to determine the total number of antibodies for your professional billing code? I am being told that 88184 does not count toward the total number of antibodies for your professional fee. Is this true? That would mean that the smallest panel you could ever charge a professional fee for is 3 antibodies. Any comments are appreciated. My understanding is that you may charge 88184 as your 1st antibody and then 88185 for the rest. So you can actually charge for a panel of two antibodies or more. However, those CPT codes are for billing the technical component. You have 3 choices for professional billing: CPT 88187 Interpretation of 2 - 8 markers CPT 88188 " 9 - 15 " CPT 88189 " 16 or more markers.
