Hi Adrian:
We have been using WatchDog for monitoring usage on our
Cyan and for the most part it serves our needs just fine.
It is kind of a "Fileguard" for PC. You can generate
reasonable reports which are exportable to an Excel
spreadsheet. You have the ability to restrict software
usage and times, etc. Best of all it is cheap $35/single
license or $250/site license. You can find more info at
http://www.watchdogpc.com.
On that note, I still do not understand why manufacturer's
who make these instruments who know that these instruments
are often going to be used in multiuser facilities do not
build this feature into their software. I (and others for
sure) would be more than happy to share what our needs
are, just ask.
